Gomoku online

Free Gomoku (five in a row) on a 15×15 board. Pick standard, free-style or Renju rules, practise against three AI levels or send a friend a link for a live match.

Gomoku rules at a glance

Black moves first, then Black and White take turns placing one stone on an empty intersection. The first player to make an unbroken line of five stones — horizontally, vertically or diagonally — wins. Under the standard rule you may not create two open threes with one move, and six or more in a row does not count.

FAQ

Why is the double-three forbidden?

A double-three cannot be defended, so allowing it gives the first player an overwhelming edge. Banning it forces more precise attacks like the four-three and keeps games fair.

I made six in a row — why didn’t I win?

Under the standard rule (and for Black in Renju) only exactly five wins; overlines do not count. Choose free-style if you want six or more to win.

Can I play without an account?

Yes. Games against the AI and pass-and-play on one device need no sign-in. Online matches and rankings need a GameNow account.

How do I play with a friend?

Tap “Invite a friend” to create a room with a code and link. When your friend opens the link they join the room instantly, and the game starts as soon as both players are in.

Is there a time limit?

Online games allow 60 seconds per move. If time runs out, that player loses on time.
